So even though it’s winter and the outside weather is cold and I don’t walk outside as much, I have to say that this winter has been bearable. Why? Because every morning I wake up looking at my daughter Fiona’s smile. What a way to start the day!  It’s the most amazing thing what a smile can do for you. Not shortly after her big smile both my husband and I start smiling too. So thankful she’s in our lives:) Fiona is now 4 months and is starting to babble a bit and it’s the cutest thing ever. Smile-babble-smile- babble. Life is good!

For the next couple of weeks I will be putting together mindful after school programs for the spring in the Fuller and the Malborough school. We will be doing mindful movements, breathing and reading some mindful stories. Really excited about that! Teaching mindfulness more than ever in my life has made my world more fulfilling and changed my perception a lot. It’s helped my relationships with my friends, family and especially my children. Even though I am still human and loose it once in a while, the freak out time lasts a lot shorter and occurs less. It’s not how long you focus on your breath but more the consistency of it. So even if you have 1 minute a day to focus on your breath, same time, place, life will improve. Some great books  to share with your kids are “Mindful Movements” by Thich That Hanh and “Mindful Games” by Susan Kaiser Greenland.

Back at work after giving birth to my daughter


So happy to be back teaching at the Y in Keene after giving birth to Fiona Eve, born on September 21st. She’s now 1 month old and even though I don’t get as much sleep as I would like I am so thankful she’s in our lives. So excited to introduce her to my extended family at the YMCA. Tuesdays meditation class is at 4:15pm and family yoga on Wednesdays at 4:15pm, all ages welcome.

Mindfulness in the public school system


I am very excited to start my mindfulness program in the public school system in Keene this year. It’s been a goal of mine for the past years to implement a mindful program for students as well as teachers and it’s happening now! We’ll be breathing, connecting and getting our brains in an optimal state for learning. I will also offer an 8 week course for teachers next year who would like to get a deeper knowledge and integrate the whole program in their class. I will keep you all up to date on when and where:)))

The other exciting news is that I will also be delivering my daughter Fiona at the end of September, which I am very excited about! I have not been writing as much in my blog as I have been focussed on my pregnancy and my program…but all is well. Just lots of good stuff happening all at once!

I have 2 of my wonderful co-workers at the YMCA: Ginnete and Priya who will be taking over my meditation and family yoga classes, while I will be away on my 2 month maternity leave.
